TRAIN TO TRAINER

EUTM Mali conducted a Company Instructor Course and Base Defence Course for non-commissioned officers (NCOs) belonging to the Malian Armed Forces (MaAF) at the Koulikoro Training Camp (KTC). The Course took place between the 20th July and 07th August 2020. EUTM Mali trained Malian trainers under “Train to trainer” concept up to a company size in the necessary basic tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) required deploying on operations.

The summary of subjects included International Humanitarian Law, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, military operations in urbanized terrain, personnel and vehicle searches at checkpoints, Countering Improvised Explosives Devices & Weapons Handling on Shooting Range and principles of Base Defence, Duty Roster, Patrol and Quick Reaction Force employment. On August 07, the closing ceremony of the Company Instructor Courses was held at the KTC. This was a moment of pride for all: the EUTM instructors seeing the progress of the Malian trainees, and the trainees who received their certificates, bearing witness to their successful performance during the period.

EUTM Mali continues to respond to the operational needs of the MaAF despite limited resources. It achieves this through the provision of training, education and advising. The different courses and activities are delivered and led by specialized teams. The range of activities is wide and of various duration depending on the objectives to be achieved: from intensive one-week activities to the long term advising at the operational and strategic level.
