PRESS RELEASE COVID-19 – UPDATE

Following a number of COVID-19 cases at the headquarters in Bamako and Koulikoro Training Camp, and the subsequent rapid reaction and immediate response of the EUTM Mali Command, the situation is fully under control. The mission now has only two confirmed positive cases; both remain in isolation. There are no personnel currently in quarantine.

The Mission’s priority remains the health of its personnel, and of its Malian partners in the fight against COVID-19. EUTM Mali continues to implement all preventative measures in line with World Health Organization (WHO) guidance. Also, EUTM Mali will adopt the latest lessons learned from the recently gained experience.

Appropriate hygiene and protective measures remain in place, with each EUTM member having their temperature checked daily and screening tests for COVID-19 being conducted. We continue to enforce all possible safety measures, as advised by the WHO.

The Mission is proud to be fully dedicated again, to its most important objective, which is training, education and advisory to the Malian Armed Forces and G5 Sahel Joint Force.
