MEDICAL CO-ORDINATION TRAINING

A series of exercises were conducted within the Koulikoro Training Area by the Medical Group working within the EU Training Mission. This was the first opportunity for medical co-ordination training to be conducted in one location involving both the military first responders and armoured ambulance teams working with the medevac aviation teams that are working 24/7 to ensure that there is appropriate medical cover for any activities.

The day provided opportunities to exchange skills on patient handing and transfer between different armoured vehicles, through to Puma helicopters and into the front of the  hospital located within the training camp.

As well as showing the co-ordination of different medical capabilities, it also showed the close working of civilian contractors and military capabilities in sustaining the EU mission.
