10 Apr EUTM MALI PRESS RELEASE Nº2 ABOUT COVID-19
In keeping with its policy of informing both the Malian people and the mission contributing nations, EUTM Mali wishes to advise of an additional four confirmed cases of COVID-19. These four whose positive test results were confirmed today, 10 Apr 20, had been in isolation as they had been in close contact with the initial case announced two days ago. This brings to five the total number of confirmed cases within the Mission.
All confirmed cases are in quarantine in the Mission Headquarters, under medical supervision and those with whom they had contact are also in isolation, pending repatriation to their countries of origin, for which preparations are currently underway.
The Mission Headquarters has been in lockdown since the first case symptoms appeared, and all training activities have been suspended since the week before.
EUTM Mali’s current priority is the health of its personnel and of its partners in the fight against Coronavirus. Appropriate hygiene and protective measures are in place and each EUTM member has their temperature checked daily. EUTM Mali, will continue to enforce all possible safety measures, as advised by the World Health Organisation.
