Dear family members of EUTM Mali troops, and their loved ones,

For nearly 5 months, you have supported our EUTM Mali service members by calling attention to the unique challenges they face, and effectively advocating on their behalf.

Taking care of our service members, our most precious resource, was since onset of our deployment my top priority. These men and women serve our great EU nations every day, bearing the burden of the mission, short-notice orders, and many other challenges.

In turn, we did our utmost to deliver our service members the quality of life and the support they need – and so rightfully deserve.

This was especially true during the global pandemic, which has created new and different challenges for our people. Necessary resources were at our disposal to balance force health protection with mission readiness.

We do not count the days. Instead, we make every day in mission count. I should like to reassure all families and loved ones by recalling, “My service members are doing well. “
