A NEW COMMAND POST FOR G5S JF

The Poste de Commandement Interarmées de Théâtre (PCIAT) inauguration took place on June 03 at the Bamako Sénou Airbase. The official handover ceremony was held in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Tiébilé Dramé and his counterpart of Defence and Veterans Affairs, Dahirou Dembélé; the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) to Mali, Bart Ouvry; the Special Representative of the United Nations, Secretary General Mahamat Saleh Annadif; the G5 Sahel Joint Force Commander, Brigadier General Oumarou Namata Gazama; and the Ambassadors accredited to Mali.

The construction works began on 1st April 2020. This Operational Command Post (CP) has an operations centre, a meeting room, a warehouse, offices and accommodation for security personnel. MINUSMA’s Mission Support Cell carried out the project and EUTM Mali participated in the design of the CP. The EUTM Mali Mission Force Commander, Brigadier General João Boga Ribeiro, attended the inauguration. This project was financed with EU funds, which represents a strong sign of commitment among EU, United Nations and G5 Sahel Joint Force.
