Security, social patrols, mission awareness : that is what Force Protection does

Day in, day out, 24/7, the Force Protection Company at Koulikoro Training Centre (KTC) is responsible for the safety of the European Union Training Mission’s personnel based there.

The Company, comprising Belgian and Spanish soldiers, controls the military camp’s entry and exit points, as well as ensuring the security of trainers delivering courses outside the confines of KTC.  From time to time, they are also required to escort convoys, often between KTC and Bamako.  A varied role, critical to EUTM’s success.

One other very important task is that of Social Patrols, visiting local villages to interact with residents, ensuring EUTM remains visible and to assist in their understanding of our mission.
